A good swim does not win a triathlon however; a bad swim can lose it!

To ensure the best possible first leg of a triathlon, athletes need to be able to translate good technique in a pool into an effective stroke in open water. Having good technique and fitness in a swimming pool is crucial to ensure a smooth transition to open water. The Tri Training Harder coaches use a number of swimming aids when working with athletes, both on training holidays and at home.  The swimming aids featured below emphasise and focus swimming drills, which leads to increased accuracy and muscle sensitivity.  The aim is to correct the stroke and teach the body to remember and repeat the correct performance with every stroke.
